Designer Stephanie Laird draws on her previous career as a classical dancer to design beautiful, flattering clothes, hand-knitted in the finest Scottish cashmere. From the Hillary Rohde studio in Edinburgh, Stephanie has built up an international following for her very personal take on hand-knit elegance.

The Autumn-Winter 2009 collection is quintessentially Stephanie. Within each style group, and even within individual pieces, variations of stitch and yarn weight are used to create the characteristics of different fabrics in the way they hang and move; the fascination of hand-knitting is the way these variations can be achieved in a single, homogeneous whole. From weightless 1-ply crochets to a sumptuous 12-ply jacket, there is something beautiful for every occasion.
